This brand of super smoothie originates from Portugal. The client wanted to update their existing branding in order to introduce it to the UK market. The main focus was to highlight the natural and fresh quality of the product, so stylistically it had to be approached with this in mind. The common ingredient in all of the flavours of the product is the Alobaca apple - I chose to highlight this by creating a little apple orchard illustration on the front that would also reflect its small farm origins. The client also wanted to create a fruit pot ranged aimed at babies and toddlers, so I carried on the brand look through to this packaging but added a more fun and innocent element by giving the fruit a little character.

In 2003 I was accepted into the CADSA (Centre for Advanced Digital and Screen Animation) program. This was a program that sought to bring together fledgling animators around Perth, and encourage the local production of animation and short film.

I met Roseline Lau there, who had an idea for a stop-motion animation piece, and it sounded like so much fun that I quickly joined her and happily became her right-hand-man (or gal, as it were). My role mainly consisted: set-building, model-making, the voice of the main character, animating, the soundtrack and final editing. We spent over 7 months on it, to come up with 7 minutes worth of animation, but it was worth it, and I would do it all over again!

This was a pitch for BAA - the brief was to focus on promoting the airport terminals at Heathrow and encourage passengers to get there early in order to spend a bit more time (and money!) at all of the retail outlets, including the cafes, restaurants and shops. My idea was to promote Heathrow as a destination in itself, and so created these kitsch postcards that were very impactful typographically, and also featured a few of the things one could partake in while at Heathrow.

The client came with an existing logo and set of brand guidelines that he required updated. No Tie Generation is a company with several 'arms', each that provide a particular service. Therefore he required a family of logos that worked together as well as independently. I updated the logo by giving each service its own distinguishable colour. The logo itself was also updated with new typography, and with 3 different versions so as to provide options for different scenarios.

Further to the updated brand guidelines and logos, the client required business cards and compliments slips. The concept behind the business cards was to lure potential clients through the addictive game of sudoku - this 'hook' of problem solving then relates to the client's main service as a consultancy. Creating a business card this way allowed for impact and a bit of playfulness.

Cloudreach is a trusted, expert and dedicated partner for businesses interested in Cloud Computing. The kite was used as a symbol that represented this concept of reaching for the clouds.

Sport Academies is a premier school holiday sport camp for children between 3 to 15 years old at venues across the UK. The client required a logo that would appeal to parents who were doing the booking for their children. It needed to look professional, reassuring and safe but at the same time quite fun and impactful so as to appeal to the children as well. It also needed to be a logo that could be translated to other variations as the school had different courses that they wanted to promote, such as Tiny Tots and Mini Soccer. I created logos that looked like crests or school emblems, so that these children would feel proud to be a part of the school - while at the same time using bright colours and simple shapes to make these less austere and more friendly.

Bubble Tea, up till now, has been a relatively unheard of thing by a majority of people in the UK. The client wanted to bring this unheard of Asian beverage to the masses, starting with a small store in London. In order to appeal to the mainstream audience, Bubble Tea had to be presented in a way that would appeal to everyone. The concept of Bubbleology revolves around The Delicious Science of Bubble Tea - having this "hook" allowed for many visual cues to be created, starting with the store being that of a mad scientist's laboratory. It also allows us to have a lot of fun with the brand, one that doesn't take itself too seriously!

My involvement as part of the team who worked on Bubbleology was in creating the concept behind Bubbleology, the brand identity and initial interior concepts.
